Hello! I’m Emily Madara, a licensed massage therapist (NC LMBT#20051) in central NC. I believe in the transformative power of empathetic touch as well as everyone’s innate ability to heal and grow and I would be honored to be a part of wherever you are on your journey. All bodies and identities welcome.

I’m a queer Southerner who’s been farming for the last fifteen years. Changes in my health led me to pursue an alternative path to serving my community. I’ve always been a nurturer and I’m grateful to be able to offer you a safe space to relax into your healing. I know firsthand the struggle to feel embodied and recognize how massage therapy has helped me become more aware of my insides, allowing me to dive deeper into my healing journey.

I studied massage and bodywork therapy at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy and my compassion-based massage practice combines a variety of modalities from my studies, including Swedish and deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, craniosacral, thai, and shiatsu.

Before your session we’ll check in about how your body is feeling today. Are you holding tension in certain areas? Experiencing any pain? Are you looking to feel relaxed, energized, more open? Together we’ll make a bodywork plan that meets your needs for this session. We’ll check in as needed throughout and debrief after to evaluate treatment and make a plan for continued care.

One day I’ll be able to offer massages at the farm in Cedar Grove. My vision is for you to have the option to warm your muscles in an outdoor bath filled with flowers and herbs from the farm, the cedar sauna, or the hot tub under the open sky before receiving your massage treatment. Sounds dreamy, right? It’s on its way.

In the meantime, I’m renting space in downtown Hillsborough: 121 North Churton Street, Suite 107, Hillsborough, NC 27278, through the door under the red awning on the King St. public parking lot side of the building.

If you're ready to unwind, rejuvenate, and reconnect, would you join me for a therapeutic massage? Let's make your well-being a priority together.
